Week 25 of the PGA Tour schedule sees an elite field featuring Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Scottie Scheffler peg it up at the Travelers Championship.

The defending champion at TPC River Highlands is Harris English, who last week made his return from injury at the US Open.

The tournament could be held in another frantic week in professional golf with more PGA Tour stars set to join rival league LIV Golf.

At the time of writing, it has been reported that Brooks Koepka and Collin Morikawa are the latest huge names to jump ship.

The PGA Tour commissioner, Jay Monahan, has announced suspensions for players who have joined LIV Golf that have not resigned.

Those players include Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau, who endured torrid experiences at the third major of the year last week.

It has not been confirmed but there have been reports that Monahan is planning to announce a fall schedule of three $25million events for the OWGR top 60 players.

The 2022 Travelers Championship has a total prize purse of $8.3million, with the winner taking home a cool $1,494,000.

The winner will also get the standard 500 FedEx Cup points, with other perks including starting berths at the 2023 Masters and 2023 PGA Championship as well as next year's Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Will Zalatoris withdrew from the Travelers after finishing second at the US Open.
