Five PGA Tour pros have been forced to withdraw from this week's John Deere Classic including former US Open champion Webb Simpson

Once fourth in the world rankings, Simpson has slumped to a lowly 193rd as he continues to fight through injury and a lack of form.

The annual John Deere Classic was founded in 1971 and the event has been staged at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois since 2000

JT Poston is the defending champion following his three-stroke triumph over Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Emiliano Grillo 12 months ago.

Michael Kim holds the tournament record score at the John Deere Classic of 27-under.

The John Deere Classic comes just two weeks before the final major championship of the season, The Open at Royal Liverpool.

Cameron Young, who is still searching for his maiden PGA Tour title, starts a warm tournament favourite this week.

Other players who will fancy their chances of a W include Grillo, Russell Henley, Denny McCarthy and Adam Schenk.

The PGA Tour has further questions to answer this week, especially after a leaked document was revealed on social media at the weekend.

It's led Tiger Woods to quickly respond

Stay tuned for our GolfMagic Fantasy Picks at the John Deere Classic after we successfully named Rickie Fowler as our captain en route to Rocket Mortgage Classic victory last week.

Simpson is one of five players so far this week to withdraw their name from the John Deere Classic. The American has been replaced in the field by Australia's Greg Chalmers.

Brandon Wu has also withdrawn and he's been replaced by 2017 Barbasol Championship winner Grayson Murray, a player known for having a very fiery temper on the golf course.

Murray reportedly told Rory McIlroy to "f*** off" at a recent players meeting

CT Pan, Vincent Norman and Charley Hoffman have also been forced out.

Derek Ernst, Derek Lamely and Peter Kuest come in.
