Eagle-eyed viewers of the 2022 Players Championship will have noticed some top professionals wearing PLD on their caps.

The reason is they are Ping staffers and are promoting the limited edition staff bag in recognition of their "Putting Lab Design" new putters.

Tyrrell Hatton, Lee Westwood and Louis Oosthuizen have the bags in play this with, along with the other Ping ambassadors at TPC Sawgrass.

Brands often create limited edition golf bags. At The Open last year, Callaway produced a "limited edition July Major staff bag".

Ping was founded in 1959. In 2022, the company will produce four models in the PLD range.

They will be from their classic models milled from 303 Forged Stainless Steel to give a high premium feel and finish.

The Ping PLD Anser Putter is a throwback to the original. The Ping PLD DS 72 combines a mordern face with a balanced shape.

Elsewhere, the brand will release the Anser 2 and Prime Tyne 4.

Ping are famed for their putters and have been producing some of the best putters on the PGA Tour for many years.

Tommy Fleetwood shared the lead after day one of The Players, which was hit with a four-hour weather delay.
