Ewen Ferguson admitted he was "sad" other high-profile figures in the golf world think the DP World Tour is going in the wrong direction as he appeared on GolfMagic's very first podcast From The Tips

Two-time winner Ferguson - nicknamed Ewbo - joined Presenter and Broadcaster Harry Benjamin alongside GolfMagic Editor Andy Roberts and Reviews Editor Matt Chivers to discuss a number of topics.

Those included his recent move out to Dubai, his involvement in the forthcoming Hero Cup, Ryder Cup aspirations, his breakthrough year and the future of the European-based circuit.

The 26-year-old revealed "heartbreak" at the Kenyan Open served as excellent motivation before he won the Qatar Masters last March and the ISPS Handa World Invitational in August.

Ferguson also spoke about his involvement with Modest! Golf and how encouraging Niall Horan has been.

It was also revealed that one of the golfer's hidden talents is singing. Ferguson said he has a love for country music.

Unsurprisingly, Ferguson is also targeting a PGA Tour card down the line. "It's the ultimate goal," he told the podcast.

Ferguson was also asked about the comments made by Matthew Fitzpatrick's decorated caddie Billy Foster.

Foster claimed the European-based circuit was "soulless" now after the emergence of the LIV Golf League

He said:

"I feel like it's kind of sad to say that. I mean, he's obviously an amazing caddie and he's [been] all over the world caddying for the best players in the world [and] he's not seen the talent coming through.
"Even the Challenge Tour is so, so strong right now and the younger guys are so so much better and that's why they keep pushing through."

Ferguson added:

"At the same time, I know what he means, but it's quite sad the way it went the the Sergios and Westwoods and Poulters because I'm a big golf fan as well so I like seeing these guys around but at the same time I've just got to concentrate on me ultimately if I'm playing good golf then everything else takes care of itself and I'm happy."

Ferguson said that he found the situation "disheartening".
