Tyler Weaver and Luke Poulter are two competitors on the GB&I Team at the 2025 Walker Cup, and they both have very famous fathers.

Luke's dad needs little introduction for us golf fans as he's Ian Poulter.

Who is Luke Poulter's father?

Ian, 49, is considered by many as a Ryder Cup legend having helped Europe to five victories between 2004 and 2018.

He owns an incredible 15-8-2 in the biennial dust-up against United States.

Furthermore, Poulter has an unbeaten 6-0-1 record in singles across his seven appearances

Poulter has three wins to his name on the PGA Tour and an impressive 12 on the European Tour.

He now plays on the LIV Golf League where he is the co-captain of Majesticks GC.

Ian's son Luke Poulter has been playing some fantastic golf in 2025, testament to him earning a captain's pick on the GB&I Walker Cup team.

He made the knockout stages of the 2025 US Amateur and then narrowly missed out on a place in the 2025 US Open at Oakmont.

Luke lost out in a sudden-death playoff to Austen Truslow at Emerald Dunes Golf Club in Florida.

He did, however, win his first collegiate title for the Florida Gators at the Schenkel Invitational in March.

Who is Tyler Weaver's father?

Tyler's father, Jason Weaver, is also very famous in the sporting world.

Jason, 53, is a former classic British flat racing jockey.

He had huge success in the mid-90s and he rode more than 1,000 winners in a career spanning 14 years.

Since retiring from life as a horse racing jockey, Weaver remains in the industry as a pundit on ITV Racing and Sky Sports Racing.

Weaver is one of only seven jockeys to have ridden 200 winners in a season, a feat he achieved in 1994 when he finished runner-up to racing legend Frankie Dettori in the jockey's championship.

Tyler Weaver not only qualified to play in the 2025 Walker Cup but he also qualified to compete in the 2025 US Open.

He narrowly missed the cut in T80 and he was ranked the fourth top amateur of 15 at Oakmont.

Tyler automatically qualified for GB&I at the 2025 Walker Cup.

He is one of the best up and coming British players with him ranking inside the top 30 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

Tyler was joined automatically on the Walker Cup team based on his ranking alongside Cameron Adam, Dominic Clemons and Connor Graham.

Luke Poulter was then named one of Dean Robertson's six captain's picks on the team.

He was joined by Eliot Baker, Charlie Forster, Stuart Grehan, Niall Shiels Donegan and Gavin Tiernan.

The 2025 Walker Cup is taking place at the famous Cypress Point Club in California from 6-7 September.
