A second mugshot of Tiger Woods has been released to the public, seven days after the golf icon’s DUI arrest in Florida.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office published the new image on Friday 3 March, offering a starkly different look at the 15-time major champion compared to the initial photo released shortly after his arrest.

In the newly-released mugshot, Woods, 50, appears wearing a blue inmate top and a visibly strained and worried expression.

The image contrasts sharply with the earlier photo, where he was still dressed in his light blue Sun Day Red polo shirt he had been wearing at the time of the crash, a shirt that has incidentally now sold out on the company's website.

Woods was arrested on Friday 27 March after his Range Rover overturned when colliding with a truck towing a trailer.

Footage from the scene, released earlier this week, showed Woods making a phone call to golf-avid U.S. President Donald Trump moments before being taken into custody.

Despite registering zero on a breathalyser test, officers suspected impairment.

Woods told police he had taken prescription medication earlier in the day, and hydrocodone pills were later found in his possession.

The former world number one was booked into county jail and released approximately eight hours later after posting bond.

Woods now faces charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a urine test, both misdemeanours, as well as a citation for careless driving.

In a statement issued following the incident, Woods acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and confirmed he would step away from golf to focus on his health and undergo treatment.

Woods' girlfriend Vanessa Trump has since taken to social media to show her love and support.

TMZ reports Woods' private jet has been spotted touching down in Switzerland, and he is now expected to enter a private treatment facility.

A judge granted permission for him to leave the United States, citing privacy considerations.

His court hearing is scheduled for 23 April.
