Tommy Fleetwood posts motivational 15-word caption after PGA Tour heartbreak
PGA Tour star Tommy Fleetwood takes to social media for the first time since his heartbreaking loss to Keegan Bradley at the Travelers Championship.
Tommy Fleetwood has taken to social media with a motivational post 48 hours after he threw away a golden chance to win his first PGA Tour title at the Travelers Championship.
Fleetwood, 34, took a commanding three-shot lead into the final round at TPC River Highlands on Sunday, and he still led by two shots with three holes to play.
But a bogey at 16 followed by another on 18 left the door open for his playing partner Keegan Bradley, who then slammed it shut when rolling in a six-footer for birdie on 18.
It was agony for Fleetwood and ecstasy for Bradley as the US Ryder Cup captain saw out his eighth PGA Tour title and second Travelers in three years.
Heartbreak for Tommy. ๐

Despite being a seven-time DP World Tour winner, Fleetwood is still going in search of a first PGA Tour title.
It was, if truth be told, the best chance he has ever had in 159 appearances on the circuit.
Fleetwood admitted immediately after the final round that he was "angry, upset and gutted" to have not seen things out down the closing stretch.
But after two days to just about get over it, Fleetwood has dusted himself down and is now looking towards the future.
"Weโll go again!!" Fleetwood captioned a photo on his social media channels.
"As always, thanks for being on the journey.
"See you in Scotland!"
Fleetwood's equipment sponsor TaylorMade replied: 'Onwards'.
Former Chelsea captain John Terry commented with a fist bump and blue love heart.
Sky Sports Golf lead host Nick Dougherty wrote: "Youโre a credit to the game with how you deal with the ups and downs mate. Keep on keeping on Tommy, a class act."
A number of analysts including us here at GolfMagic consider Fleetwood was incredibly unfortunate to miss his seven-foot par putt on the 18th.
If you watch carefully on the video below, you can see it's nudged off line by a mark in the green.
Then again, others would say he still had the chance to repair the mark on his line under the rules.
As Fleetwood mentions in his social media post above, his next tournament comes up in two weeks at the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club.
That falls a week before the 153rd Open at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.
Fleetwood will fancy his chances of not only a first PGA Tour title but also a first major at the same time when he heads to The Open.
Not just because he's in good form right now, but also because he finished second to Shane Lowry at The Open the last time it was staged at Royal Portrush.
Fleetwood has chalked up four top-10 finishes in his last seven tournaments on the PGA Tour.
It's bumped him up to a current 13th in the world rankings, and to second in the European Ryder Cup standings behind Rory McIlroy.
