Who is Akshay Bhatia’s caddie? Meet John Limanti
Akshay Bhatia caddie: Who is Akshay Bhatia’s caddie? This is everything you need to know about Bhatia’s caddie, John Limanti.
Akshay Bhatia is one of golf’s most promising stars and is paired up with a very experienced looper in John Limanti.
Limanti has been working with Bhatia since mid 2024.
He has been caddying for over 15 years, and he has an impressive roster of PGA and LPGA Tour stars who he has worked with over the years.
Limanti’s list includes Adam Scott, Kyung Kim, Chris Kirk, Aaron Baddeley, Chris Stroud, Brendon Todd, Aron Price, Kyle Stanley, Cliff Kresge and most recently Keith Mitchell.
He told Caddie Network that his greatest memory as a caddie was when Stroud chipped in on the 72nd hole at the 2013 Travelers Championship to force a playoff with Ken Duke.
While Limanti has not been on Bhatia’s bag for his two PGA Tour victories, he was present when he finished tied for second at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in June last year.
Since Bhatia turned pro at the age of 17, he has had several caddies but in January 2022, he won The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic on the Korn Ferry Tour with his girlfriend, Presleigh Schultz caddying for him.
Relationship with Bhatia
The pair who have been working together since mid-2024 hit it off straight away.
One way in which the pair showed their chemistry was when they had a fun bet to see who could drink the most water during a very hot Travelers Championship.
Bhatia revealed that Limanti out drank him saying: “I’m probably drinking seven, eight bottles of water a day, and then mix that with electrolytes hydration stuff, so it’s a fun battle, it’s good to keep us on our toes about that.”
Background and early career
Limanti grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and played college golf at the University of North Florida.
He told Caddie Network in 2018 that his best ever golf memory came at an American Junior Golf Association event.
He said: “I knew I had to make an eagle on the par-4 18th hole to qualify for Match Play.
“I had 210 yards to the hole, and miraculously made the shot with my 4-iron.
“I then went on to meet and play Chris Stroud in the first round - we became great friends and now work together on the Tour.”
Personal life and social media
Limanti’s Instagram bio states: “Wind and yardage consultant. Amateur Beatboxer. Gourmet sandwich artist.”
His X bio adds that he is an “Underwear model.”
In 2023, Limanti, alongside other caddies such as Joel Stock, Geno Bonnalie, and Aaron Flener, collaborated with SAXX Underwear, to support the Testicular Cancer Foundation.
Career moves
Limanti caddied for Kim on the LPGA Tour during her historic defeat at the 2012 Kraft Nabisco Championship, when she failed to make a winning putt on the 72nd green.
After working with Stroud, Limanti worked with Baddeley where he won the 2016 Barbasol Championship.
He then went on to work with Masters champion Adam Scott in 2018, then Todd, Kirk, Price, Stanley and Kresge before moving to Mitchell.
In his previous role with Mitchell, Limanti was credited by the golfer for stepping in and calling him out before a shot at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Right before Mitchell took a shot on the par-4 third hole, Limanti interrupted him to check where the wind was going.
His advice helped Mitchell reach the green and have 13-feet to the hole.
Mitchell said: “That was a great, great call from Johnnie to pull me off like that.”

Salary and earnings
Players and caddies don’t often disclose how much the loopers get paid but we can guess at it being a pretty penny.
Typically, caddies usually get 10% of the prize money whenever their player wins, 7% if they make the top 10 and 5% if they make the cut.
