Golf fans crack LIV jokes after TGL confirms launch date and rules
The opening night for Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's TGL has been confirmed after the virtual golf competition was pushed back one year.

TGL was originally supposed to launch in January but the tech-fused golf league was pushed back one year after its facility in Florida was damaged.
A power outage caused the Sofi Center roof in Palm Beach Gardens to collapse.
McIlroy later claimed the delay was a blessing in disguise. "Above all, we are happy that no one was injured," he previously said.
TGL released an update on 25 March to confirm the league will officially begin on 7 January 2025 on ESPN and ESPN+.
An animated Rickie Fowler confirmed the latest details in a short video posted on X.
Fowler explained the basic format and rules of TGL in the clip, which you can see below.
"Is this to compete with LIV Golf," one X user wrote. Another joked: "Please don't blare music."
Along with the details of TGL's format and rules, the announcement also revealed the Sofi Center will be a steel-supported structure.
It has been reported by Sports Business Journal the rebuilt arena will be able to withstand a Category 5 hurricane.
The Sofi Center will be able to seat 1,500 fans.

TGL is run by TMRW Sports, the tech-focused sports company founded by Woods and McIlroy in 2022.
TGL stands for Tomorrow Golf League.
Six teams of four players will play each other once in a league format.
Only three players from the four-man rosters will compete in any one event.
