STEP 3: CHOOSING YOUR GRIP STYLE

There are three main grips: interlocking, overlapping and baseball.

INTERLOCKING:

A grip made famous by Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

It is a grip where the little finger of your right hand interlocks with the index finger of the left hand.

Nicklaus used this grip as he has small hands.

OVERLAPPING:

The overlapping, or Vardon grip, is still the most popular grip in the game.

It is where the little finger this time sits in the nook between the index and middle finger.

FINGER:

The 10-finger grip, or baseball grip, can also be used.

If you adopt this style, however, make sure the little finger is touching the index finger.

People with weak hands or very small hands may find this grip helpful.
