As far as shots go this one is pretty brave, especially if you haven't got a spare change of clothes.

Scottish professional golfer Ewen Ferguson was presented with an interesting scenario on the golf course recently.

His ball found the water - well almost - and came to rest on a lily pad just short of the dancefloor.

Does he take the shot on? Of course he does. The question is, would you and how often are you falling in?

It takes the phrase "play it as it lies to new levels". It certainly is impressive, even if it may have been staged.

Splashing it with a 7-iron for an easy par? If you say so.

Ferguson, 25, enjoyed a successful junior career having won the Boys Amateur Championship in 2013. He was also a member of the 2015 Walker Cup Great Britain and Ireland team.

He played on the Challenge Tour for two years from 2018 with his best finish coming second at the Euram Bank Open after losing in a playoff.

In 2021, he had three top-10 finishes on the Challenge Tour on the Road to Mallorca which was enough to earn him his full European Tour card for the first time.

He's got game.
