Two golfers were enjoying their round at Gardens Park Golf Links in Darwin, Australia, when a police officer seized their golf buggy to chase down an armed suspect who had fled across the golf course.

The incident occurred on June 20 and the moment was captured by some onlooking golfers in the video below. The police officer is seen speaking on his radio before jumping into the buggy and driving across the fairway.

The officer was in pursuit of a male suspect who had allegedly assaulted someone at a nearby Mindil Beach and was chased by the police officer on the golf buggy, with another running on foot behind him.

The 25-year-old suspect was caught and arrested, he has since been charged with assault and being armed in public.

Gardens Park Golf Links is located in the northern part of Australia, set amongst 55 green acres of tropical gardens. It is a 9-hole par 34 course, but the venue also hosts corporate functions, competitions and tournaments.

The club also features a practice green, lakeside driving range and an 18-hole mini golf course.
