"Sucks a lot" - YouTube golf star outlines next steps after disastrous week on PGA Tour

YouTube golf star Brad Dalke says he has to get better when he doesn't have his best stuff. 

The 28-year-old American teed up on the PGA Tour at last week's Rocket Classic on a sponsor exemption. 

Dalke went into the $10m regular-season event buoyed by his performance on the DP World Tour in July at the BMW International Open. 

Not only did Dalke make the cut in Munich, he was two shots off the lead heading into the weekend. 

His challenge faded though and the former Good Good star shared 30th place. 

But it was a completely different story at Detroit Golf Club, with Dalke posting rounds of 81 and 75 to miss the cut by 19 shots and finish dead last. 

A particular low point came on the 14th hole in round one whereby Dalke smothered his tee shot miles left and went on to make an eight.

Dalke took to Instagram on Sunday and outlined his devastation at the performance.

"I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t extremely disappointed with the outcome of this week at the Rocket Classic," he wrote. 

"Knowing how well I can play and what I am capable of and getting dead last on the biggest stage just honestly sucks… a lot.

"The great thing is that I still know how good I can be and I just need to learn how to be better when I don’t have my best stuff. 

"It was also nice to get more much-needed reps under the gun in competitive golf after a long break."

Paying tribute to his wife, friends and family, Dalke added: "I also have the best support system I could ever ask for. 

"You're my rock Abbie and I appreciate you being my person I can always lean on.

"To all my family (especially my mom and dad), y'all have made unbelievable sacrifices in your lives for me to live my dream and I'm so happy that a lot of you could come out to watch. I love all you guys.

"And lastly to the Rocket Classic, Mark Hollis, and everybody behind the scenes. 

"Thank you for inviting me and giving me this opportunity. Y’all run an unbelievable golf tournament and I really hope that somehow, someway, this is not the last Rocket Classic. Thank you so much."

Dalke was referring to the fact Rocket Companies will no longer sponsor the annual PGA Tour event. 

He wasn't the only YouTube star in the field last week. 

Australia's Ryan Ruffels, who features on The Lads channel alongside Jason Day, shot two rounds of level par to miss the cut by three.
