Police are investigating the robbery of the golf shop at Largs GC in Ayrshire, Scotland on Thursday at around 3.15am.

Cops told how two men forced open the shutters of the pro shop on Irvine Road and left with equipment worth a four figure sum.

"The two men believed to be involved have planned this theft – it is vital that we find those responsible," said Saltcoats Police Detective Constable Fionntan Rankin.

"Officers have been checking CCTV and making door to door enquiries.

“We know that there was a white Seat Ibiza car in the area that night and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen this car, or the driver of this car to come forward and contact us.

“Think back, where were you in the early hours of Thursday morning – did you hear or see anything you think may be able to help us?

"We are also appealing to anyone who may have been offered golf equipment or knows of anyone selling a large amount of equipment in the area in the last few days to get in touch."
