"What a childish, entitled crock of dung" Johnstone lashes out at LIV…

It's fair to say six-time European Tour winner Tony Johnstone has some firm opinions about the LIV Golf players.

Johnstone, 66, has questioned where "all the displeasure was" from the defectors a year ago when the Saudi-backed league was touted.

The Zimbabwean, who is commentating for Sky Sports Golf at The Senior Open at Gleneagles this week, says that the status quo in pro golf was always "you earn according to performance".

He even went as far as describing some of the LIV players' reasonings for jumping ship as "a childish, entitled crock of dung".

His criticism comes in a frantic week in the golf world in which Ryder Cup Europe stripped Henrik Stenson of his captaincy.

Stenson, 46, disagrees with the decision and claimed he had an agreement with Norman's LIV so he could fulfil his duties as skipper.

That of course was not going to fly those at Ryder Cup Europe HQ. Now they have to pick a new captain and even that has caused tension

Johnstone wrote: "A year ago, where was all the displeasure with both tours now being touted by the defectors? Most are rich men thanks to the PGAT/DPWT and the status quo has always been that you earn according to performance. Staleness, laziness, broken bodies and greed have skewed everything."

He added: "If I hear any more about how guys "dedicated their life to the tour" I think I'll puke. They did it because it was a job they loved whilst earning vast amounts of money and they were free to leave for a better paying job whenever they liked. What a childish, entitled crock of dung."

Well, tell us how you really feel!

The third LIV Golf event is scheduled to take place next week at Trump National in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Stenson's deal with LIV Golf is reportedly £40million.

LIV have also snapped up PGA Tour journeymen Charles Howell III, who has played more than 600 Tour events, and Jason Kokrak.
