Phil Mickelson treated us all to another edition of 'Tribute Tuesday' this week, where the 44-time PGA Tour winner pays tribute to people who have been some form of inspiration in his life.

This week, Mickelson wanted to share a story about the impact that his school principal, Dr. Brian Bennett, had on his life while he was at school.

Mickelson revealed that at school he had a knack for getting kicked out of school during his time in 8th grade at the Blessed Sacrament school, for distracting the rest of the class. To quote Phil himself he said he was "a bit disruptive, not a lot, but just enough to where he would kick me out of class and put me in the hallway."

The hallway Mickelson mentions happened to be right next to the principal's office and Dr Bennett would regularly invite him into his office to chat where they would have "some of the best conversations." Check out the latest 'Tribute Tuesday' video below:

"We would talk about life, and goals, and academic smarts, and life smarts and the difference," Mickelson said. "You could be book smart and academic smart, but unless you learn how the world operates, and develop life smarts and how to get things done, you’re not educated until you have both."

"Rather than chastise me for getting sent outside the classroom AGAIN, he would pull me inside and lift me up and have great conversations," Mickelson adds in the video.

Although Dr Bennett passed away eight years ago, it's clear that Mickelson still thinks about the discussions the two had together and have helped Mickelson to become the man he is today.
