Tiger Woods had a very simple message for a fellow PGA Tour pro and former Open champion.

Former Open champion and 13-time PGA Tour winner Mark Calcavecchia has revealed the most savage text message he ever received from Tiger Woods after once asking him for a favour when facing a six-hour delay home after a tournament.

Calcavecchia revealed Woods' hilarious text message from back in the day when replying to fellow PGA Tour pro Bob Estes, who tweeted he was about to miss a connection for a flight for the second week in a row.

While the tournament in question is unknown, Calcavecchia did once ask Woods for some assistance given they were both heading back to Florida.

But Woods quickly shut down the request.

Estes tweeted: "About to miss a connection for the second trip in a row. Three gate changes (might've been 4) and delayed about an hour. Probably getting stuck at DFW for the night. Anybody feel sorry for me?"

Calcavecchia replied: "After Tiger didn't give me a ride home after a tourney and I was in a 6 hour delay, I texted him and said gee thanks for the lift home. I'm in a 6 hour delay and counting. He said 'play better'. That was it."

Woods, 47, has since gone on to win a record-tying 82 times on the PGA Tour including 15 major championships.

Estes, 57, won four times on the PGA Tour and now competes on the PGA Champions Tour, while Calcavecchia, 63, won 13 times on the PGA Tour including the 1989 Open Championship at Royal Troon when defeating Greg Norman and Wayne Grady in a four-hole playoff.

Calcavecchia now plays a limited schedule on the PGA Tour Champions and his Open exemption ended following the 150th staging of the tournament at St Andrews last season.

Woods still remains on the sidelines as he looks to fully recover from ankle surgery. The former World No.1 recently confirmed he has been forced out of The Open at Royal Liverpool.

Padraig Harrington retained the Dick's Sporting Goods Open on the PGA Tour Champions on Sunday night when firing a back-nine 28 to beat Joe Durant by one stroke. Ernie Els finished a further shot back in third.
