Charl Schwartzel shows exactly how to get out a plugged lie
Charl Schwartzel and Eddie Pepperell steal the show with the two shots of the day at the South African Open.
American Johannes Veerman shot a spectacular nine-under par 62 to take a one shot lead at the South African Open, while local hero Louis Oosthuizen is just three off the lead in T10 and Branden Grace two shots behind in T4 as he chases a victory on home soil.
It wasn't a great opening round from Charl Schwartzel, one of the favourites to win the tournament, shooting two over par, but the South African stole the show with an incredible bunker shot that looked almost impossible.

Schwartzel's ball was buried deep in the sand, a classic 'fried egg' of a lie, but what he pulled out the bag was nothing short of spectacular.

"Almost as if he's chopping wood," said the commentary team. "That is a nasty lie."
"I'll tell you what, 12 feet past is as could as he could do."
"That would be fantastic."
Eddie Pepperell, who is playing his first tournament as a PING player, matched Schwartzel's score of two over, but he too starred in the highlight reel of the day, using his PING G410 driver off of the deck for his second shot on a par-5, where he was over 300 yards from the hole.
The ball cut beautifully from left-to-right, before taking a few skips and rolling up to the side of the green to find the fringe.

The Sky Sports commentary team were in awe of the Englishman's shot.
"Look at that, what a shot! That's 9.9 out of 10."
