Rory McIlroy schedule and results 2026: When and where is Masters champion playing next?
Rory McIlroy 2026 schedule: Find out when the Northern Irishman will be playing next on the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and in the major championships.
Rory McIlroy returns to PGA Tour action at the 2026 Memorial Tournament.
McIlroy skipped the signature event, hosted by Jack Nicklaus, last year but is among a stacked 72-player field that will compete for a $4m top prize this week.
The Northern Irishman has not played since teeing it up at the second men's major of the year in May.
McIlroy, 37, went into the PGA Championship with a slither of hope he could win every major in 2026 following his Masters triumph in April.
Although he remained in contention heading into the final round at Aronimink, McIlroy failed to find any real momentum and ended up finishing five strokes adrift of England's Aaron Rai.
After the Memorial Tournament, McIlroy will then turn his attention to the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.
McIlroy endured a complete disaster the last time the U.S. Open was played at the venue in 2018, finishing on 10-over after 36 holes and missing the cut by a mile.
After the U.S. Open, it remains to be seen when we will see McIlroy back in action.
In the past, McIlroy has played the RBC Canadian Open but the tournament switched dates with the Memorial this year.
It's highly likely McIlroy won't play again until he tees it up at the Genesis Scottish Open, a week before The Open at Royal Birkdale.
Rory McIlroy's season so far
The Northern Irishman began his season, as ever, in the Middle East on the DP World Tour.
McIlroy, 36, enjoyed a decent start to the calendar year with a solid top-five finish at the Dubai Invitational.
He did not have his best stuff but surged into contention in the final round, only to blow his chances down the stretch as Spain's Nacho Elvira scooped the title following Shane Lowry's collapse.
A week later McIlroy teed it up at Emirates Golf Club with hopes of adding a fifth Dallah Trophy to his cabinet at the Dubai Desert Classic.
McIlroy endured a frustrating week, ultimately finishing in a tie for 33rd at the first Rolex Series event of the year.
He told reporters that he wasn't where he wanted to be with his game, but added: "It's [only] January."
McIlroy made his first start on the PGA Tour in 2026 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
He returned to California as the defending champion and played fairly well, but was let down by some sloppy mistakes on the greens, ultimately finishing in a share of 14th place.
And he showed signs his form is improving as we head into the major season with a runner-up finish at the Genesis Invitational.
McIlroy finished one stroke behind champion Jacob Bridgeman at Riviera and is still without a win at the iconic venue.
A back injury forced him to withdraw from the Arnold Palmer Invitational before the third round.
McIlroy's appearance at the 2026 Players Championship was in doubt but he still attempted to defend his title at TPC Sawgrass.
He made the cut but finished way down the leaderboard in a share of 46th.
McIlroy then teed it up at the first men's major of the year at Augusta National. He raced into a six-shot lead after 36 holes and held on over another roller-coaster weekend to win his second green jacket.
He returned to action a few weeks later at the Truist Championship, finishing in a share of 19th.
McIlroy then placed inside the top-10 at the PGA Championship.
