Former Masters champion Adam Scott is officially set for his 100th consecutive major championship appearance at next month's U.S. Open

The third men's major of the year will be staged at Shinnecock Hills over 18-21 June.

Scott, best known for his 2013 Masters win, was added to the field by the USGA on Sunday after locking up his spot via the top 60 in the Official World Golf Ranking

Other notables to be added to the 156-man field via the world rankings list included major winners Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed

Germany's Matti Schmid and America's Alex Smalley, who played in the final group of last week's PGA Championship, also earned one of five exemptions on offer.

Scott spoke to reporters three weeks ago about the prospect of playing in his 100th consecutive major before the news was officially confirmed.

The Australian, whose streak began at the 2001 Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes, acknowledged the achievement but stressed he would rather celebrate winning the 2026 U.S. Open "than just playing it".

"I can give myself a pat on the back for hanging in there and playing all these events," he said.

"I think there’s some luck in it, but I think I've had generally great advice around me from a physical and training standpoint that's kept me healthy and pretty much injury-free."

Scott's streak is the longest since 18-time major champion Jack Nicklaus played 146 in a row from the 1962 Masters through to the 1998 U.S. Open.

Even when he has not been exempt into some majors he has come through qualifying.

The closest he came to not teeing it up in a major was the 2008 U.S. Open. He broke a bone but soldiered and finished 26th. Scott played the first two rounds alongside Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods

Graeme McDowell earns U.S. Open spot

Former 2010 U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell was among a group of three LIV Golf players to come through Final Qualifying on Monday in Dallas, Texas.

Northern Ireland's McDowell, 45, fired back-to-back rounds of 69 to qualify alongside eight others that included fellow LIV players Peter Uihlein and Caleb Surratt.

Former Masters champion Sergio Garcia also teed it up but missed out on qualification by two shots.

Another 36-hole qualifier was held at Walton Heath in England.

Nathan Kimsey fired a blistering 10-under par 62 to secure his first U.S. Open tee time.

Matthew Jordan also qualified. Thomas Detry, who quit the PGA Tour over the winter to join LIV Golf, missed out on a play-off.

Below, GolfMagic has listed the field so far for the 2026 U.S. Open.

As things stand, the field has a confirmed 103 competitors for the 2026 U.S. Open.

Woods, 50, is not expected to play, despite returning home from rehab last week
